ADMIN GREETING

It’s hard to believe we are over half way through this school year!  It’s been very exciting watching students grow according to Luke 2:52 – in wisdom, in stature and in favour with God and man!

We are already accepting enrolment for the 09/10 school year.  Missed our open house?  Come and see classes in action anytime.  Meet with our dynamic teachers.  We guarantee you will be able to see and feel the difference at SCA!

We are proud of the excellent instruction and uplifting environment at Springs Christian Academy.  But what truly sets us apart is our staff integrating Biblical principles into all aspects of school and learning.  All that we do and teach is centered on God’s Word and His Truth.  As always, we are Pursuing Christ.  Pursuing Excellence.

SCA NEWS

Grade 8 Memphis Trip > Grade 8 students took a week off regular classes to travel by bus to Memphis, Tennessee.  This exciting trip included many activities along the way, such as the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri and a river boat cruise along the Mississippi.  While in Memphis, students were able to learn more about freedom by visiting the National Civil Rights Museum and also a home that housed slaves during the Underground Railroad.  The bus ride home included a stop at a Six Flags Amusement Park, which is always popular.  This trip not only expands on what is taught in ELA throughout the year, but it is a chance for students to reflect on and appreciate their own physical and spiritual freedom.

First Flight for Many > Recently Grade 6 students had a ride on a small aircraft and flew over Steinbach; this was the first airplane ride for many of the students.   The aircraft is owned and was piloted by SCA parent, Mr. Curtis Enns, who also donated the cost of the flights for the students.  Thanks to the Enns family for this experience.  The class enjoyed taking part in many activities at the Steinbach Mennonite Heritage Museum.  Students learned why the Mennonite people moved to Canada and experienced their way of life when they arrived.

30 Hour Famine > Congrats to the Gr 12’s for raising over $1200 at the 30 Hr. Famine! The original goal was $1500 with 32 participants. Instead they raised $1200 with just 15 students participating, making it one of the highest amounts per person that the SCA grads have ever had. As well as students raising money for a good cause, even after being hungry, students pitched in to help a local resident with sandbagging!  The Grade 12s have certainly risen to the challenge of leading by example.
